Introduction to Budgets
Know more about Empuls budgets for managing the spend on your Empuls account
What is a budget?
A budget is just a plan for how to use reward points to incentivize certain behaviors. It lets you decide who can give awards, what awards can be given, how many awards they can give, and when they can give them.
Why are budgets needed?
Budgets are important because they help companies use their resources wisely. By having a plan for how rewards are given out, a budget makes sure that rewards are distributed in a thoughtful way and stay within the company's spending plans.
How do they work?
As an admin, you can create a budget by choosing which awards can be given using that budget and deciding how long it will be valid.
You can add points to the budget, so you have a set amount of rewards to give out during the defined validity period.
You can give some of those points to other users, who can then use them to reward their team members during the budget's validity period. And don't worry, if there are any unused points at the end of the period, the system will take care of them.
Do I have to pay for creating budgets or points?
When you make a budget and put points into it, there's no need to pay anything just yet. But if your team members want to exchange their rewards points for gift cards, your organization might need to pay up. But don't worry, you have options! You can also add your own products to the Empuls store using the In-house catalog feature. This way, your employees can use their points to get your products without you having to pay Empuls.
